With nearly 20 years of financial management and leadership experience, Julie Oliver currently serves as the financial division controller for St. David’s HealthCare’s seven-hospital healthcare system, across 110 locations in Central Texas, a position she’s held for 14 years.
Prior to assuming her role as a controller, Ms. Oliver served as the director of audit and compliance for five years, where she successfully led annual financial audits for the St. David’s HealthCare system. She was the lead on all matters pertaining to the history and legal agreements for St. David’s HealthCare’s partnership with St. David’s Foundation and Georgetown Health Foundation.
Before joining St. David’s HealthCare, Ms. Oliver worked as a partner at Patterson & Davies LLP in Austin where she provided planning, transactional advice and controversy assistance in federal, state and local taxation business start-ups as well as government relations. She began her career as a tax consultant at Ernst & Young in Austin where St. David’s Foundation was her client.
Ms. Oliver earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from The University of Texas at Arlington. She went on to complete her law degree at The University of Texas at Austin and is licensed by the State Bar of Texas. Outside of her professional role, she loves spending time with her family and pets; she also teaches yoga at Wanderlust Yoga in downtown.
The Austin City Council appointed Ms. Oliver to a four-year term on the Central Health Board of Managers in June, 2017.
