Telehealth services are covered by most insurance plans and may have a co-pay similar to an in-clinic visit. Please contact your insurance company to ask about coverage or copays.

A telehealth visit allows you to discuss medical concerns with your healthcare provider through a secure video or messaging connection rather than in-person. Some aspects of an in-clinic appointment, such as hands-on physical exams or lab tests, may not be possible during a telehealth visit. However, your provider can still effectively diagnose and treat many conditions without an in-clinic visit.

Research has shown that clinical video visits can be as effective as in-person appointments for many conditions, especially for follow-up visits and certain types of consultations.

Telehealth visits may not be appropriate for all conditions or situations, such as when experiencing severe symptoms, during emergencies such as chest pain, shortness of breath, or significant pain, or for complex medical cases requiring physical exams or diagnostic tests. Additionally, some patients may prefer or require in-clinic care due to personal preferences or accessibility issues.

You can schedule a Telehealth through your MyChart account, by calling 512-978-9015, or ask your care team during an upcoming clinic visit. The patient representative or care team member may suggest an in-clinic visit based on your reported conditions.
